I live in California and want to know what the best route is? I am currently in the Administative Field. What are some good schools on the Los Angeles Area? Are On-line courses worth the cost? How do i step into the Real Estate world after graduation?

You have certainly not received the answer you've been seeking yet, so let me provide it here:



(1) Several real estate institutes exist in LA and licensing can even be obtained online. If you don't have any friends that are Realtors, go to http://www.trulia.com/voices/-Agent2Agent-42--- and ask other agents for recommendations (I'm in Austin, otherwise I would recommend a specific school).



(2) After your courses to obtain your license, you will hang your license with a broker of your choosing. Be sure to interview with several- some offer a lower commission but higher marketing packages while other offer higher commissions but you're in charge of your own marketing. Some are teams, some are small brokerages, some are major and you'll have to speak with several to find your comfort zone.



(3) Your new broker will typically help you into the lovely world of Real Estate, but for maximum exposure, I recommend doing as much networking with Realtors and with regular folks to not only learn about breaking into real estate but to get your name out there.



(4) Certainly obtain your own website and begin blogging and get out there! http://agentgenius.com is a great place to learn about what Realtors are talking about amongst themselves!



The best advice I can give is to not be scared to make a friend in a local Realtor- everyone loves to be in the teacher position or mentor position, so take a Realtor to coffee to pick their brains! now is the worst time to get into real estate or especially becoming a broker. california is the 1 forclosures in the country. if u want to be a broker, be prepare to eat alot of ramen noodle.I want to Change Careers and Go Into Real Estate?
You may want to start off by being an Assistant to an Agent or Investor. That way you can learn the process of buying and selling a home.

Even working at a mortgage company would give you the knowledge you need.

It is a lot of work to get started in REal Estate but it is worth it in the end!!!

Maybe you could find an Assistant/Receptionist position at a Property Management company. Work in the leasing office?...
