Whats the median age for a career change?

does anybody have reliable data on this? how does the job market treat you when you're changing careers, especially when your background is completely different from the industry you want to enter, say, finance? and how does the market treat you if you try to offset that by getting a masters degree first, say, an applied masters degree?Whats the median age for a career change?
35 to 40 ( you'll still have a couple of decades to build up a second retirement ) .
