I would like to change not only my career but more in management or assistant management stage. I am trying to go back to school and try continuing education but i am wondering how i can show in my resume or even apply for a different career. I want to try retail management or sales. I have a bit of both experience but not very much to land a good paying job in this recession. Possibly maybe 3 years total combined experience but not with the same companies. Some of the experience is in part time. I would like to change careers as I am trying to open up a business and i know going into one of the new careers will help when it is time to open. I have a plan and goal but i really would like to change careers as i have almost 20 years of customer service as supervisor skills. I am a little nervous about the recession so that is why i am asking our Yahoo friends. ( thanks!) Please serious suggestions. How can i change careers with limited experience?
You can make your pitch for getting hired on your cover letter.
In a few sentences, you can point to how those experiences on your resume will be of benefit for the company you are applying to.
You can post your cover letter and resume, identifying items replaced by X's, here for critique.
Good luck!
