I am a 26 year old accountant. I got my BBA in accounting and I have over 2 years experience as an accountant. But my current job is my 3rd in 2 years and I starting to think that its not the jobs I may not like but the career I am in.
My current job function is mainly mnth end journal entries and analyzing and cleaning up the a/p a/r subledger accounts and other g/l accounts. With some special projects thrown in between. BOOOOORRRRING!!
So, I wondered if their was anybody in my position who made a career change I would love to know what, when, where, how?
Thanks,

If you can pass on your knowledge of numbers and accounting, become a teacher.I am a Accountant looking to change careers, any suggestions?
start thinking about the job that you would like. Here's a good question: if you didn't have to work, what would you spend all day doing? Is there any way you can get paid to do that thing? Obviously every job is going to have some crappy aspects, but you should try to do what you like for your job.I am a Accountant looking to change careers, any suggestions?

Accounting sucks, because it is a staff job. Go where the action is: marketing %26amp; operations.
Stay away from personnel, because that sucks even more than accounting. Ask any OPS guy...they will tell you what I have said.I am a Accountant looking to change careers, any suggestions?

It may be the company or culture. I have an opportunity in Cincinnati, Ohio, for someone with a CPA and 3 years experience in public accounting to work for a great company - SCRIPPS - to be their Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst.
