Career change cover letter?

Should I explain in my cover letter the reason for wanting to change careers, or only focus on how my current skills can transfer over to the position I am applying for?Career change cover letter?
Just focus on how your skills transfer to the prospective employer's needs You can explain anything about your career change in the interview. Best of luck!Career change cover letter?
I agree with Ann -- you should definitely focus, in your cover letter, on how your current skills may be transferred. Your cover letter should be one page or less and does not need to go into too much detail about your reasons for changing careers. I also think that an emphasis on your skills and goals for your prospective position should be the focal point of your interview as well, unless your prospective employer asks questions specifically related to reason(s) for changing career -- in that case, you should emphasize the positive qualities of the new career more than the negative qualities of your %26quot;hopefully%26quot; soon-to-be former one.

As a quick note, I am a cover letter and resume editor for International Elite Resumes (www.internationaleliteresumes.com) -- a professional cover letter and resume editing firm that specializes in low-cost, efficient resume and cover letter editing. IER charges $39 to edit a resume and $29 to edit a cover letter, as opposed to editing services that charge you hundreds of dollars. While you don't necessarily need an editor for your cover letters and resumes (some people are perfectly comfortable writing and editing them on their own), if you would like to use one, feel free to ask for Ming at International Elite Resumes, and I can help you out. Best of luck with your job search!
