I'm 50 and wanting to change career from retail/management to real estate sales. How to begin?

First take a look at what is (or is not) going on in your local real estate market. Unfortunately, the real estate market nationwide (with very few exceptions) is in the toilet right now. I was in the business for a very long time and still have a lot of friends still in the business (barely) - these are people who have been very successful and they are now looking for other employment because they can't pay the bills. Plus, as a Real Estate agent, you are technically an independent contractor/self employed. You pay all of your expenses including a fee to work in an office. The start-up fees are particularly expensive - pre-licensing school, licensing fee, fees for office supplies/computer/computer program/advertising, an upfront fee to join an office as well as a fee for them to keep your license, etc. You can only carry your own license if you are a Broker and most states require that you are a salesperson for a period of time before you go to school and get a license to be a broker. I have actually considered going back into real estate part-time (bad idea UNLESS you are very experienced in Real Estate), but now is definitely not the time.I%26039;m 50 and wanting to change career from retail/management to real estate sales. How to begin?
Find a well-established local agency. They will sponsor your licenses and assist you in acquiring the training.I%26039;m 50 and wanting to change career from retail/management to real estate sales. How to begin?
Unless you are a shark by nature, stay away from that. RE is vastly overrated as a good way to make a livingI%26039;m 50 and wanting to change career from retail/management to real estate sales. How to begin?
Sign up for a real estate course. Most real estate offices can give you information.I%26039;m 50 and wanting to change career from retail/management to real estate sales. How to begin?
If you're looking into real estate for the money, you may consider starting your own network marketing home based business. I have my own home based health and wellness business sharing proprietary products that are formulated in Switzerland, made in the US and target 6 key consumer markets. There are over 350 consumable products giving one a nice residual check rather then 1 time sales. Some of our top earners are making six figures and earning time and financial freedom. It's a secure and stable company (been in business 27 years), debt free, no territories to limit growth, no inventory, no sales requirements, unlimited income potential, free online training, online support, committed leadership, Mercedes Benz car program, with the most generous compensation plan in the industry. The company is booming with an average of 111% growth every year since 2002. I'm looking for serious business builders that like networking, group and/or 1-on-1 presentations, and sharing an opportunity, this might be a great fit for you. If you're interested, let me know and I can provide you with more details.
