How much should I charge for my pet photography?

I am hoping to change careers and become a pet photographer but I don't know how much to charge or if I can make a living from it. Any ideas? How much should I charge for my pet photography?
Unless you are in a heavily populated area with the right demographics, you might not get enough pet work to have a career. I guess it depends on how much you want or have to make to make a decent living. Photography is not an easy business to earn enough wages to live on. Everyone with a digital camera is a potential professional now. Do you already possess professional level skills and equipment? Without having the basics, you would just be one of the thousands of wannbes getting into the %26quot;professional%26quot; photography arena.

Perhaps if you also did people portraits or events you might have enough customer base to make a go of it. Antoni had good advice about doing the footwork before jumping in, and I agree. Good luck! How much should I charge for my pet photography?
Assuming you have the knowledge, study and training behind you and the tools.

Do extensive research on the demand in your area.

Do a viability study. Write up a business and marketing plan, then if it all looks good go for it.

It's always worth a try, but you WILL NOT be able to make a living at it.
